Rwanda National Police has paraded four men suspected of collaborating with terrorist groups that have been behind insecurity incidents within Rusizi district.
The mid-aged men were brought before residents of Kamembe sector in Rusizi district.
Seven days ago, a grenade was hurled in Kamembe town causing panic among residents. Police promised to investigate the matter and locate the people behind the attack.
Four rusty guns and several rounds of ammunition were also presented to the public.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Hazza Alqahtani the United Arab Emirates envoy to Rwanda has hailed the Rwandan government for capturing these terrorists.
“Hon. Minister, keep up the hard work to eliminate the enmities of peace,” Ambassador Alqahtani tweeted in responce to ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe the Minister of State in Foreign Affairs Ministry.
According to government, the four men revealed that they were recruited in Bukavu in DRCongo by MRCD/FLN, led by Brussels-based Paul Rusesabagina and Faustin Twagiramungu, and received money for their criminal activities.
Rusesabagina a former manager of the Hotel des Mille Collines formed the Mouvement rwandais pour le Changement démocratique (MRCD) in December 2016. The National liberation Forces (FNL) are the military arm of the (MRCD).
