Uganda’s President Kaguta Museveni has unleashed armed militias on streets of Kampala and other major towns to defuse growing pressure from members of opposition party, National Unity Platform (NUP), led by tough presidential contender Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi.
The number of deaths is yet to be established, but dozens of corpses were collected from the streets of Kampala before and of weekend.
People on streets captured graphic videos showing victims growsemly breathing their last.
Some faces were captured in close range by an unknown daughter with her mother from their car in the video below. Viewer discretion is advised.
More videos were shot capturing individuals assumed to be Museveni’s NRM hardcore criminals who are willing to unleash lethal force against people believed to be members of the opposition and their sympathizers.
In the video below, a man dressed in plain clothes is seen shoot live bullets at people on the streets without any hesitation in the presence of Police. He is not arrested or stopped at all.
Earlier in the week Kyagulanyi was arrested by Police accusing him of holding illegal campaigns triggering riots.
President Museveni’s Senior Press Secretary Don Wanyama called the protestors “hooligans on the Street”, who were attacking people in yellow (NRM) and forcing, especially women to undress? “They are now guests of the state,” he said on Twitter after many of them were arrested and other shot at. “They will have their day in court,” he insisted, before being attacked on Twitter to explain who the plain clothed armed gangs are on the streets.
Remember the hooligans on Burton Street, who were attacking people in yellow and forcing, especially women to undress? They are now guests of the state. They will have their day in court.#stophooliganism pic.twitter.com/zNKKABQTm6
