The boxing legend shocked the world as he returned to action for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr and the pair far from disgraced themselves back in the ring.

Ahead of his comeback Tyson linked up with MMA trainer Rafael Cordeiro. ‘Iron Mike’ did a portion of his training at the coach’s Kings MMA gym in Huntington Beach, California.

And now Cordeiro has released some footage of sparring preparation for the bout. In this compilation, Tyson is seen exchanging blows with a man who is almost half his age.

28-year-old Mike Russell is the fighter seen trading with Tyson. The heavyweight has a record of 4-1 (2 KOs). What is also interesting from this video is that ‘Iron Mike’s’ sparring was taking place inside a cage, rather than the traditional boxing ring.

Regardless, the rounds seemingly helped him to prepare as his exhibition performance went well.

yson vs Jones Jr ended in an unofficial draw, but provided a solid eight rounds of entertainment.

“It was interesting,” Tyson continued, “I felt really good, I felt confident. “I felt that I could do it again.” When asked if he will put the gloves back on and fight again in 2021, Tyson replied: “Yeah, absolutely. It’ll be better this time.”
