Liberation Veterans Re-armed To Combat Terrorists In Cabo Delgado

1 Min Read

Hundreds of veterans that fought and won wars that led to the liberation of Mozambique from colonialists have been re-armed to fight terrorists in the troubled Cabo Delgado region.

The General Secretary of the Association of Combatants of the National Liberation Struggle (ACLLIN), Fernando Faustino, has called upon all affiliates that make up the local force to fight without contemplation against the terrorists that have plagued the province of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique.

Speaking Monday, in the main village of Mueda district, Fernando Faustino said he believed that, like the wars against Portuguese colonialism, Ian Simith and the 16-year-old conflict, the current one, waged against terrorism, will surely be won.

He underlined that “today, as yesterday”, unity is the main weapon and asked the veterans of the national liberation struggle to, once again, with weapons in hand, transmit their experience to the youth of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in the fight against evildoers.
