The time for Hustler and dynasty politics in Kenya may soon be a thing of the past if Former Minister of Trade Mukhisa Kituyi wins the 2022 Presidential elections.

Kituyi said in a press conference on Sunday that he is joining the highly competitive race with an intention to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We have looked at Kituyi’s credentials and achievements and decided that he is the best person to lift our economy and wage war on graft, he has been the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and therefore best placed to become Kenya’s next president,” Kituyi’s secretariat said.

Kituyi’s handlers attacked the hustler vs dynasty politics that have pitted the Deputy President’s -camp against the Raila Odinga-camp as the 2022 succession race hots up. They argued that the politics were empty showmanship without any tangible agenda to uplift the lives of electorate.

“These hustler vs dynasty politics are not about economic growth, they will not put food on your table or pay fees for your kids, you need a leader who will make Kenya greater, Dr Kituyi is that man for you,” Calistus Wafula who is heading the secretariat said.

Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi (born 1956) has been serving as Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD since September 2013. Immediately prior, Kituyi was Chief Executive of the Kenya Institute of Governance, based in Nairobi.
