President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently in Dubai United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of the Kenya national day at the Expo 2020 Dubai on 16th February.

The Consul General of Kenya to Dubai and the Northern Emirates Amb. Peter Mwendwa said the President will crown his three-day working visit trip by holding bilateral talks with the UAE leadership.

A national day is dedicated to each participating country with an event themed to celebrate that particular country.

Kenya is scheduled to showcase business opportunities in the country and foster partnerships between local and international investors.

Over 192 countries are boasting their best bits for six months, every country is desperate to stand out, which is why every country is also given one day – and one day only – to be the star of the show.

The Dubai Expo 2020 kicked off on 1 October 2021 and will run through to 31 March 2022.

Kenya’s Ambassador to the UAE Kariuki Mugwe indicated, “The purpose of the President coming here is to showcase business and investment opportunities that are available in Kenya. And there are quite a number of them mostly in the investment areas.

“Those opportunities need to be made known not only to the UAE investors but also other investors in the world, we have actually invited a number of them among the 192 countries participating in the Expo 2020 Dubai,” Amb. Mugwe said.

President Kenyatta will officially open the high-level Kenya-UAE business forum where the Kenyan business representatives will engage and strike business deals with their UAE counterparts and other participating countries.

“It is expected that there will be investment opportunities that will be secured by the engagements that will be undertaken while His Excellency the President is in the UAE,” the Ambassador said.
