Yesterday, during a vibrant campaign event in Huye District, RPF-Inkotanyi Chairman and presidential candidate Paul Kagame delivered a stirring speech, reflecting on Rwanda’s past and pledging a united and prosperous future for all Rwandans.
“In 1978, I sneaked into the country to visit some friends, because I was a refugee living outside the country,” Kagame began, sharing a personal anecdote that resonated deeply with the audience.
“As you can see, I was one of you before we even knew each other. In fact, we were always one people, meant to live with each other, but some of us were kept outside the country as refugees.”
Kagame assured the crowd that such a scenario would never happen again. “No Rwandan will ever be kept outside of this country as a refugee ever again. This problem was resolved forever, by you and us together.”
Addressing the younger generation in particular, Kagame emphasized their crucial role in Rwanda’s transformation.
“A lot of you here, especially our young people, we have been together even before you were born. We were together because after you were born, you joined in our path to transform this nation for the better.”
