Kagame and Faye Discuss Regional Peace and Rwanda-Senegal Ties

This afternoon, President Paul Kagame held a “productive call” with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, focusing on regional peace efforts and the strong cooperation between Rwanda and Senegal.

“We discussed the progress made in advancing peace in the region through the EAC-SADC process and the positive contributions from beyond the region,” President Kagame said in a statement following the conversation.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the deepening partnership between their countries. “We also discussed the strong and mutually beneficial cooperation between the people of Rwanda and Senegal,” Kagame added, emphasizing the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The call reflects Rwanda and Senegal’s continued engagement in regional stability and their commitment to fostering closer economic and diplomatic relations.

Both nations have been active in promoting African-led solutions to conflicts, and their cooperation is expected to grow in the coming years.
