Former Mayor Seeks Cycling Federation Presidency

Abdallah Murenzi, the former Mayor of Nyanza District in southern Province and also former head of Rayon Sports football club, has submitted his candidature for Rwanda Cycling Federation Presidency.

The Federation top management also includes the posts of 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary General and advisers.

According to the Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY) electoral committee, the list of applications from candidates for various posts was received on Wednesday and they will proceed for elections scheduled December 22.

Candidates for the post of 1st Vice Presidents include; Marie Agnes Mukazibera and Jean Charles Kanamugire, currently the Managing Director of KigaliToday Ltd.

Only one candidate for the Post for 2nd Vice President has been confirmed, Alphone Nkuranga.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General post has received two candidates including; Gildas Niyonzima and Jean Leonard Sekanyange.

Treasurer post has also only one candidate Assia Ingabire.

Advisors include Me Ireen Bayisabe, Rabin-Hamin Karambizi and Geoffrey Karama.

On December 6th, the Cycling Federation President Aimable Bayingana and his entire committee resigned after being accused of corruption, sexual abuse and mismanagement.
