A new documentary feature film titled ‘The shadow of the forgotten’ is rocking cinema halls in down town Kinshasa. It is a film to watch that you shouldn’t miss before end of the year.
The 52-minute feature film dedicated to Congolese veterans is directed by José Adolphe Voto and produced by Louis Vogt Voka. It was released to public on November 13 at the French Institute of Kinshasa.
This screening took place in the presence of Albert Kunyuku, one of the Congolese veterans of the Second World War. He is one of the main characters in this film.
“When I met these two veterans who are still alive, they told me their story that we do not know. I decided to produce this film sooner than to write a book, “Says José Adolphe Voto, director.
He also said that the history of veterans is not well known to many Congolese; “I thought of young people by producing this film,” he added.
The two Congolese veterans immortalized in this film are the only ones still alive. They are 97 and 94 years old.
