The 62-member East African Legislative Assembly has resumed its sitting in Arusha, Tanzania and will deliberate on several issues for the next three weeks.
Key issues for discussion include committee reports on Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources on oversight with stakeholders for Budgetary enhancement in the Agricultural sector, an activity which took place in March this year.
The legislators will also debate on the East African Community Youth Council Bill, 2017 and the Report of the Committee on consideration and review of the Accounts Report for the Financial Year ended June 30th, 2017.
By Monday afternoon, EALA Communication, Trade and Investments Committee had met to discuss Trade related matters of East African Community.
Meanwhile, the EALA Committee on Regional Affairs and Conflict Resolution has met and are reviewing progress on region’s common foreign and security policies.

Coming up for consideration the entire first week are a number of issues to be deliberated on at Committee level including; Accounts, Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources, General Purpose, Regional Affairs and Conflict Resolution, Communication, Trade and Investment, Legal Rules and Privileges.
