Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo have effectively announced Visa exemption to all their nationals entering either country, Taarifa reliably reports.
The DRC and Tanzania are both members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) bloc.
In September 6, 2023, Tanzania amended its immigration regulation law by inserting the Democratic Republic of Congo among the countries whose nationals are exempt from visa requirements upon entry to Tanzania.
Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, DRC’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted on Sunday, “In the name of the principle of reciprocity and in the interest of consolidating the ties of cooperation between our two States, Tanzanians are are exempt from visas upon entry to Congolese territory, in accordance with Article 5.2 of the Treaty of the Southern African Development Community.”
