China’s New Energy Vehicle Boom Continues with 91.5% Surge in February Production

China’s rapid shift to green mobility accelerated further in February, as New Energy Vehicle (NEV) production jumped 91.5% year-on-year, reaching 888,000 units, according to the latest industry data.

NEV sales also soared by 87.1% compared to the same period last year, with 892,000 units sold, representing a remarkable 41.9% share of all new vehicle sales for the month.

The figures highlight China’s growing dominance in the global electric vehicle market and its commitment to reducing emissions through large-scale adoption of clean transportation technologies.

Analysts attribute the surge to strong consumer demand, expanded charging infrastructure, and sustained government incentives supporting electric and hybrid vehicle adoption.

Chinese automakers are also increasing production capacity and exporting NEVs to new markets across Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Industry observers see the February performance as a strong signal that China’s NEV sector is on track for another record-breaking year, reinforcing its global leadership in the green automotive revolution.
