Bboxx, a leading energy solutions provider, has shifted its headquarters to Kigali, Rwanda, the firm announced on Tuesday morning during a UK-Rwanda business forum taking place in Rwanda.
Beyond being a change of address, this move is coupled with a substantial US$100 million investment, a clear testament to Bboxx’s commitment to sustainable development, economic empowerment, and innovation on the continent.
Omar Daair, High Commissioner to Rwanda, emphasized the depth of the UK’s partnership with Rwanda, saying that, “The UK’s partnership with Rwanda is built on shared values and a mutual commitment to sustainable development.”
He expressed pride in the UK’s ongoing support for African innovation, applauding Bboxx’s relocation as a reflection of this support.
Daair added, “As Bboxx begins its next chapter in Africa, we are proud to have played a role in their journey and look forward to continuing our partnership to foster prosperity and transformation across the continent.”
BBboxx’s US$100 million investment not only signifies a financial commitment but also a dedication to over 1000 jobs to be created and a contribution to economic growth in Rwanda.
This strategic move aligns seamlessly with the country’s ambitious development goals, propelling positive change and innovation.
As Bboxx establishes its new headquarters in Kigali, the company envisions being a key player in Africa’s electrification journey.
This relocation is more than just a business decision; it’s a commitment to the communities it serves, company executives said.
Bboxx aims to be a catalyst for transformative initiatives, contributing to economic growth, fostering sustainable development, and creating lasting positive impacts.
The company’s move to Kigali signals a new era, where Bboxx is not merely an energy solutions provider but a dynamic force for positive change and progress in Africa.
Indeed, the firm is expanding and scaling by forging strategic partnerships with governments, investors, utilities providers, global companies to accelerate growth and provide a wide range of products to consumers in Africa.
It already serves over 3.6 million people.
