African Americans are steadily arming and training throughout the United States as fears of post-election violence seem unrelenting.
It has become a common view with the heavily armed militia on the streets in the southern states with a large population of African Americans. In recent months, these militias have been seen marching across many cities demanding justice of some African Americans that have been murdered in the cruelest manner.
For example George Floyd an African American died May 25 after Chauvin, a white officer, pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes and held it there even after Floyd said he couldn’t breathe and stopped moving. Floyd’s cruel death caused too much anger among the African Americans in the US and across the world- protests have been ongoing since his death.
Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American emergency medical technician that was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove on March 13, 2020. Since the US is going to polls on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, African Americans are suspicious that the polls may slide into unprecedented levels of election violence which may trigger racial confrontations. The African Americans claim they are already armed to defend themselves in case of anything ‘stupid’ thereafter.
The white folks’ militia has also been seen on the streets with heavy arms while carrying Trump flags and other nationalistic material. They can’t talk to the press nor do they even identify themselves and what their militia is. The 2020 United States elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020. All 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives, 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate, and the office of President of the United States will be contested. Thirteen state and territorial governorships, as well as numerous other state and local elections, will also be contested.
