Prudence Sebahizi, Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry, is attending the Ministerial Meeting of the World Trade Organization taking place in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
The high-level gathering has brought together global trade leaders to discuss pathways toward sustainable and equitable economic growth.
Minister Sebahizi delivered a keynote presentation during a joint economic session organized by the World Bank and the WTO.
His remarks highlighted Rwanda’s strategic progress in leveraging services trade as a key driver of economic transformation.
He outlined Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to expand opportunities through innovation, job creation, and policies aimed at fostering a broad-based economy that benefits all citizens.
“Rwanda is committed to building a resilient and broad-based economy by prioritizing services trade, empowering innovation, and creating meaningful employment opportunities for our people,” Minister Sebahizi stated.
“Our approach ensures that growth is not only sustained, but also shared across all segments of society.”
The Minister emphasized that Rwanda continues to position itself as a competitive player in global trade by investing in human capital, digital transformation, and regional integration.
His participation in the Yaoundé meeting underscores Rwanda’s active role in shaping global trade discussions and advancing policies that support equitable development.
