Global credit reporting and financial analytics company TransUnion has appointed Didier Mutabazi as the new Country Manager for its Rwanda operations.

In his new role, Mutabazi will lead TransUnion’s activities in Rwanda, focusing on strengthening the company’s presence in the local market, deepening partnerships within the financial sector, and expanding data-driven solutions for businesses and consumers.

Mutabazi brings more than 16 years of leadership experience across fintech, banking, and telecommunications. He previously served as Country Manager of Asante Financial Services Group in Rwanda, where he launched the company’s operations and expanded technology-based lending services for small and medium-sized enterprises.

He also worked at AB Bank Rwanda as Chief Financial, Technology, and Innovation Officer, leading the bank’s digital transformation and increasing digital financial transactions from zero to over 70 percent.

Jeannine Naudé, TransUnion’s regional head for Africa, said Mutabazi’s experience in digital banking and financial regulation, including collaboration with the National Bank of Rwanda, will help accelerate the company’s growth in the country.

Mutabazi said he aims to expand innovative credit solutions, strengthen fraud prevention and risk management systems, and promote wider access to financial services.

He holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and professional banking qualifications from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and speaks English, French, and Kinyarwanda.
