The smart phone world is taking innovation to a higher level as Samsung drops onto shelves a new Galaxy S26 with enhanced AI capabilities.
“We believe AI should be something people can depend on every day, designed to work consistently for everyone and without the need for expertise,” said Evelyn Munene, Head of Product & Marketing, Mobile Experience Division, Samsung Electronics East Africa.
“With the Galaxy S26 series, we focused on making AI feel effortless, working quietly in the background so people can focus on what matters.”
Now available in Kenya, The Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at Sh171,400 (U$1328) for the 256GB version and Sh197,300 for the 512GB model. The S26+ retails from Sh144,400, while the base S26 starts at Sh120,900, depending on storage configuration.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is powered by a customized Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy processor, delivering improved CPU, GPU and NPU performance to support advanced AI capabilities.
Samsung says the device also features an upgraded vapor cooling system and Super Fast Charging 3.0, capable of reaching up to 75 percent charge in 30 minutes.
A key highlight is the integrated Privacy Display, which limits side-angle visibility without external filters.
The series also introduces AI-powered call screening, enhanced encryption features under Samsung Knox and expanded post-quantum cryptography protections aimed at safeguarding user data.
On the camera front, the S26 Ultra features wider apertures for improved low-light photography, enhanced video stabilization and support for APV, a professional-grade video codec.
AI-powered Photo Assist tools allow users to edit images using natural language prompts, while upgraded document scanning and multi-object search aim to streamline routine tasks.
