A large cache’ of abandoned weapons has been discovered in the outskirts of Uvira City in South Kivu province of DRC.
According to the Dr.Balinda Oscar, the Deputy Spokesperson of the rebels alliance, “when the fighters arrived in Luvungi, on the outskirts of Uvira city, they discovered a significant quantity of weapons sent by Belgium and still unused.”
Meanwhile, fighting has intensified between the Congolese troops and the AFC/M23 rebels. An incursion took place this Sunday evening in the hills of Musingwe, Kategere, and Kabamulon outside Uvira city.
On another front a military boat carrying hundreds of Burundian soldiers was bombed by the AFC/M23-Twirwaneho fighters.
