Former Miss Rwanda 2020, Naomi Ishimwe, has officially launched her much-anticipated memoir, More Than a Crown, in a heartfelt ceremony attended by family, friends, fellow beauty queens, members of the media, and well-wishers.

The memoir chronicles Ishimwe’s deeply personal journey beyond the glitz and glamour that followed her coronation as Miss Rwanda 2020. In the book, she opens up about the realities of life in the public eye, the pressures of fame at a young age, and the emotional challenges that accompanied her rise to national prominence.

Speaking at the launch, Naomi explained that More Than a Crown is a story centered on healing, hope, and purpose, particularly aimed at inspiring young girls navigating the entertainment and beauty industries.

“My wish was never just fame, but to make an impact in society through the Miss Rwanda platform,” she said.

“This book shares my personal experiences in the spotlight to give hope, purpose, and healing to young girls going through situations similar to what I faced.”

She added that even inspiring one or two readers would make the journey worthwhile.

“If even a few people are uplifted by my story, I will be deeply grateful, because it means someone has gained something meaningful that can help uplift society,” she noted.

Over the years, the Miss Rwanda platform has evolved into more than a beauty pageant. It has become a space where young women are encouraged to use their voices, talents, and lived experiences to drive positive change within their communities.

The book launch was not only a celebration of Naomi’s achievement as an author but also a powerful reflection of her journey through pain, growth, and resilience.

Her story resonated with many in attendance, including Mutesi Jolly, Miss Rwanda 2016, who praised Naomi’s courage and creativity.

In a strong show of support and mentorship, Jolly purchased 100 copies of More Than a Crown, sending a powerful message about unity, encouragement, and the importance of uplifting young women.

More Than a Crown stands as a testament to the idea that true strength extends beyond titles and crowns.

Through her words, Naomi Ishimwe transforms personal pain into a source of hope, proving that storytelling can heal, inspire, and ultimately change lives.
