During a retreat of FPR Inkotanyi members held in Paris, the Secretary General of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (FPR Inkotanyi), Ambassador Wellars Gasamagera, called on members of the Rwandan Diaspora to place national unity at the center of everything they do.

Speaking to participants, Amb. Gasamagera emphasized that unity is not merely a concept but a guiding principle that has shaped Rwanda’s progress and resilience.

“Unity means standing together with a shared purpose, a shared vision, and a collective direction,” he said.

“We have many bonds that connect us—our attachment to one country and the common values that guide us. We must continue to safeguard and strengthen that unity.”

The retreat in Paris brought together members of FPR Inkotanyi living across Europe, providing a platform to reflect on Rwanda’s development journey, the role of the diaspora in national transformation, and the importance of maintaining cohesion among Rwandans abroad.

Amb. Gasamagera highlighted the significant contributions the diaspora has made in advancing Rwanda’s socioeconomic goals, urging members to continue advocating for Rwanda’s interests, promoting its values, and nurturing collaboration within their communities.

Unity, he noted, remains a cornerstone of Rwanda’s reconstruction and long-term stability, and it is essential for the diaspora to embody and promote this principle wherever they are.
