LIVE REPORTING……..
Preisdent Kagame was asked by a journalist on whether Rwanda could use platforms of various organisations it subscribes to and help address the suffering of people in the DRC.
In his responce, the President noted, “we are trying and we will keep trying. This is the state of affairs in the world we live in. There are these things that are never straight forward.”
The Rwandan leader pointed out that the influence of powerful nations has a significant impact on how things workout on the continent.
“Having might tends to make people right or gives them the right. The mighty tend to think they are right even when they realise what they are involved in is wrong,” President Kagame added.
He explains that a weak Africa has been kept in a compromising position when important decisions are being made.
“We africans live ready to accept it. We tend to be so subservient. somebody does wrong to you and the tendance is that Africans apologise about it. I can’t keep blaming somebody else,” said President Kagame.
He added, “while our power is limited, we can reject their actions and not accept to be treated like that. we have a way of fighting back by exposing the truth about all the lies and the suffering that is brought upon africans.”
You have to have a coordinated effort to address such things. like moinds working together to address these challenges. even speaking up makes a difference.
DRC- there is nothing between Rwanda and congo, underneath there is a volcano that we have to contend with. there are these external actors ..the moment you are consious of that fact you try to prevent the damage.
What is delaying the washington summit DRC Rwanda
I can assure you it doesnt come from Rwanda but somewhereelse. We have had so many meetings in Washington, Doha,Luanda, Daresallaam and other venues. they discuss to near agreement and the next day everything is out.
After several agreements signed, you hear someone setting new condictions too contradictory from what has been agreed and signed.
we are still hopeful that those doors that bring us together have something good.
