Congolese nationals will be able to enter Qatar without a visa requirement and simillarly Qatari nationals do not require a visa to enter DRC.
This was announced on Friday after the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani visited DRC on a half-day working visit.
The Emir of Qatar and President Félix Tshisekedi signed a host of cooperation agreements in the capital Kinshasa including; visa exemption agreement, memorandum for support of the multi-sectoral emergency response project and an agreement in the port sector.
During this short visit, the Qatar leader was given a guided tour of the DRC’s National Museum. He was treated to a temporary exhibition “Mobutu: a life, a destiny”, a museum tour retracing the life, power and legacy of former President of Zaire, Mobutu Sese Seko.
Photographs, press clippings, personal objects, works of art: all these items are presented to illustrate the political influence but also the aesthetics that marked the Mobutu era.

The two leaders then visited a room dedicated to traditional musical and communication instruments. There they discovered a temporary exhibition illustrating the sonic diversity of the country: whistles, trumpets, horns, harps, zithers, slit drums (lokole), xylophones and lamellophones (likembe), from several provinces, illustrate the cultural and symbolic richness of these objects used during rites, official ceremonies or transmission of messages within communities.
“I express my sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for honoring the exhibition ‘Mobutu: A Life, A Destiny’ with his presence, and to His Excellency President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo for his continued support. Their presence is a powerful affirmation of our shared commitment to preserving memory and advancing the historical path that continues to shape the trajectory of our nation,” said Nzanga Mobutu, son of the former president and organizer of the exhibition, on his X platform.
