The Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) today held talks with representatives of Rwandan and international civil society organizations and foundations as part of a renewed campaign to combat money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

The discussions aimed to strengthen collaboration with non-governmental actors in raising awareness and ensuring compliance with national and international regulations on financial integrity and security.

According to officials, civil society organizations and foundations play a crucial role in safeguarding communities by promoting accountability and preventing their platforms from being exploited for illicit financial flows.

RGB emphasized that the renewed campaign reflects Rwanda’s broader commitment to global security standards, financial transparency, and the protection of citizens from the destabilizing effects of terrorism and the trafficking of dangerous weapons.

Stakeholders agreed on the importance of collective responsibility in closing loopholes that could enable criminal networks, pledging to intensify awareness efforts and internal monitoring mechanisms.
