President Felix Tshisekedi is on the spotlight for allegedly spending a collosal U$122.3million on travel expenses in 2025.
The figures were exposed on October 21st in a publication Africa Intelligence detailing the cost of the Head of state’s trips.
Africa Intelligence claims in it’s report that documents from the DRC Central Bank indicate at least U$122.3 million accounted for in 2025 for the missions and travel of President Tshisekedi.
However, the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) has denied it published data detailing the president’s travel expenses.
The central bank does not, on its own, establish whether the figure of U$122.3 million is accurate or incorrect.
“The Central Bank of Congo rejects any attribution of these figures to its competence in the absence of a duly identified and verifiable official source,” BCC said in a press statement.
The central bank added, “the data thus put forward engages the responsibility of its authors, as well as that of the bodies and persons who relay it without having previously verified its origin and accuracy.”
