Hafidh Ameir Hassan the spouse to President of Tanzania has been confirmed dead, Taarifa reliably reports.
“Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has died,” Tanzanian Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi broke the news.
Regional leaders are grieving with the first family in Tanzania and have started sending in condolence messages.
“I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of Her Excellency Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania,” President William Ruto said via X platform.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, the First Lady, my family and on my own behalf, I convey our heartfelt condolences to President Samia, her family and the people of Tanzania. President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,” Ruto said.
Ruto added, “Kenya stands with our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in this moment of grief. May Almighty God comfort President Samia and her family, give them strength through this difficult time, and grant Hafidh Ameir Hassan eternal rest.”
Burundi’s leader Everasite Ndayishimiye said, “On my own behalf, and on behalf of the Government and people of Burundi, I extend my deepest condolences to President Samia, her family, and the people of Tanzania.”
“In this hour of grief, Burundi stands firmly beside our Tanzanian brothers and sisters. May the Almighty grant President Samia and her family comfort and strength in this difficult moment, and may He grant eternal rest to the soul of Hafidh Ameir Hassan,”Ndayishimiye said in a heartfelt message to the people of Tanzania.
