Rwanda generated US$9.99 million from the export of 8,863 metric tonnes of agricultural products between August 3 and 7, 2026, highlighting the growing contribution of the agriculture sector to the country’s export earnings.

According to data from the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), the exports brought in a total of US$9,990,012 during the five-day period.

Diversified agricultural products accounted for the largest share of the earnings, generating US$3.91 million from 6,312 metric tonnes exported.

Coffee followed with US$2.58 million from 440 metric tonnes, while tea generated nearly US$1.8 million from 615 metric tonnes.

Vegetable exports earned US$832,949 from 852 metric tonnes, while animal products brought in US$510,183 from 315 metric tonnes.

Fruit exports contributed US$317,263 from 322 metric tonnes, while flower exports generated US$40,368 from seven metric tonnes.

The figures show that Rwanda’s agricultural exports continue to be an important source of foreign exchange, with coffee, tea and diversified agricultural products accounting for a significant portion of export revenues.

Rwandan agricultural products were shipped to a range of international markets.

Key destinations included African countries, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, India, France, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Singapore, the United States and Bangladesh.

The latest figures underline Rwanda’s efforts to expand agricultural production and strengthen access to international markets, particularly through higher-value exports.

With US$9.99 million earned in just five days, the performance points to the significant economic potential of Rwanda’s agricultural sector and its role in supporting export growth.
