On Sunday, December 15, 204, 957 public servants graduated from Rwanda’s inaugural National Induction Programme, a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration, professionalism, and strategic alignment within the public sector.
The graduation ceremony, held in Kigali, was officiated by Dr. Senait Fisseha, a highly respected public servant, and underscored the importance of a unified, efficient public service to drive Rwanda’s long-term development goals. The event also highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of its public institutions to achieve the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) and Vision 2050.
The programme was carefully designed to instill core values such as ethics, accountability, and teamwork, while ensuring that public servants’ roles align with Rwanda’s broader development agenda.
By promoting these principles, the programme aims to foster a more cohesive and responsive government that can deliver better services to its citizens. It also provides a platform for public servants to enhance their skills and knowledge, enabling them to contribute more effectively to Rwanda’s rapid growth and development.
Dr. Senait Fisseha, who has made significant contributions to Rwanda’s public service, praised the graduates for their commitment and encouraged them to apply the lessons learned to create positive change in their respective sectors. “This is just the beginning of your journey,” she said. “The skills and values you have acquired will help you serve your communities and the nation with pride and integrity.”
The graduates, drawn from various government ministries and agencies, are now equipped to play a crucial role in Rwanda’s ongoing transformation. By fostering a culture of excellence, the programme aims to contribute to a public sector that is not only efficient but also deeply connected to the needs of the people. The emphasis on #TeamRwanda and #OneTeam reflects the collective effort needed to achieve the country’s ambitious development goals.
Looking ahead, this induction programme will continue to shape the future of Rwanda’s public service, ensuring that it remains dynamic, forward-thinking, and ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
