Kuku Foods East Africa has opened a new KFC restaurant in Kimironko, marking the brand’s return to one of Kigali’s busiest commercial areas and signaling renewed investment in Rwanda’s growing food service sector.
The outlet, located at Engen Kimironko, officially opened on March 31 and features a modern design and full KFC menu, including its signature fried chicken.
The launch represents what the company describes as a significant step in expanding its footprint in Rwanda.
Kuku Foods, the authorized KFC operator in Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya, said the new restaurant reflects its long-term commitment to the Rwandan market and aligns with national goals to boost private sector investment, create jobs and strengthen the service industry.
Speaking at the opening, Rwanda Country Manager Seela Khalayi said the company views Rwanda as a long-term partner and expressed confidence in the country’s economic trajectory and business environment.
The company also acknowledged government support, citing policies and an enabling environment that continue to attract investment and support business growth.
To mark the launch, the restaurant introduced a promotional meal offer aimed at attracting customers in Kimironko and across Kigali.
KFC, one of the world’s largest quick-service restaurant brands, operates in more than 150 countries, with Kuku Foods overseeing its operations across several East African markets.
