The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has launched the second season of its documentary series Impact Stories, expanding the project’s reach to showcase development initiatives across both Africa and the Caribbean.

Following the success of its first season, the new collection features six films highlighting the Bank’s growing presence across what it calls “Global Africa.” The series was produced by Afreximbank in partnership with Create, the branded content studio of CNN International Commercial, and aims to illustrate the real-world outcomes of the Bank’s strategic investments.

Season Two takes viewers to locations including Grenada, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Nigeria, presenting stories that go beyond finance to highlight the social and economic transformation linked to major development projects. Each episode focuses on partnerships and initiatives that are helping unlock enterprise opportunities, build infrastructure, and support economic growth.

Among the projects featured is the expansion of the Silversands Resort in Grenada, seen as a flagship example of deeper cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean. The series also highlights the development of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, one of the largest industrial projects in Africa.

Viewers are also taken to Aba, Nigeria, where the Geometric Power project is helping revive the city’s long-standing industrial sector by delivering reliable electricity. In Ghana, the documentary follows the journey of cocoa from farm to global markets through Afreximbank’s partnership with Plot Enterprise, illustrating how agricultural value chains can be strengthened through strategic investment.

The series additionally explores Africa’s creative economy. One episode features the Ghanaian fashion brand Boyedoe as it prepares to debut at Paris Fashion Week, supported by Afreximbank’s Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme.

Another episode focuses on the renovation of Abidjan’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, highlighting how infrastructure development can generate cultural and economic benefits for local communities.

According to Anne Ezeh, Director of Communications and Events at Afreximbank, the documentary series reflects the Bank’s broader mission.

“These films are much more than stories about investment and projects; they are portraits of partnership and progress,” Ezeh said. “By showcasing the entrepreneurs, communities and national economies we work with, we are sharing a vision of a prosperous and integrated Global Africa.”

She added that the stories demonstrate how the foundations for greater economic integration across Africa are already being built, encouraging cross-border collaboration and expanded intra-African trade.

Martin Laing, Senior Director of Production and Global Executive Producer at CNN International Commercial’s Create Brand Studio, described the collaboration as an opportunity to bring powerful human stories to global audiences.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside Afreximbank again for the second season,” Laing said. “Together we’ve created a documentary series that places people at the centre of the storytelling while highlighting the real-world impact of the Bank’s initiatives across Africa and its global diaspora.”

The six new episodes debuted on Afreximbank TV on March 12 and will also be promoted across CNN.com and through a long-form television campaign on CNN International, bringing the stories of African and Caribbean development projects to a global audience.
