The United States is the world’s biggest Arms exporter and has maintained a lead of 42% of the global market, between 2021 and 2025.
According to latest figures, France is ranked second (10%), followed by Russia (7%), Germany (6%), and China (6%). The rest of the world was at 12%.
For the past four years, global arms transfers increased by 9.2% in 2021–2025, driven by surge demand in Europe.
Europe is currently the largest importing region, more than tripling its imports, this according to experts is attributed to the risks of ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukraine became the world’s largest arms importer during this period, accounting for 9.7% of the total.
Meanwhile, Russia’s arms exports dropped 64%, marking a steep decline from its position as the second-largest exporter in previous periods.
Germany moved into the top four exporters, partly through aid to Ukraine, while Israel increased its share to 4.4%, surpassing the UK to become the seventh-largest exporter.
