Taarifa has learned that Bangboka International airport in Kisangani has been hit by drones again.
The attack carried out on Sunday afternoon has caused panic among the security circles.
Small arms fire was heard for several minutes following the drone strike.
Several drone attacks were recorded in mid-February, and the AFC/M23 claimed responsibility, stating that they had targeted the army’s drone command center.
According to eye witness accounts, some people decided to leave the airport, passengers waiting for their flights remained.
A plane landed a few minutes later. Other flights scheduled for this evening are still operating as planned.
