Taarifa investigative Desk has established that Congolese Army FARDC General Sylvain Ekenge has been dropped from his position as Spokesperson of the military.

According to emerging details, the Chief of staff of the Congolese army on Monday took a decision to fire Major General Sylvain Ekenge, spokesperson for the Army.

The Chief of staff says that Gen.Ekenge’s statements aired via the State broadcaster are “deemed hateful, incompatible with military discipline and the values of national cohesion.”

However internal critiques are calling for military tribunal action arguing that Gen.Ejenges remarks trumpeting for genocide against ethnic Tutsi Congolese constitutes a criminal offense.

“This is a masquerade; the real punishment should be pronounced by the military justice system,” Steve Wembi a social critic said via platform X.

Another social critic Mugenzi Felix says, “Nothing will change because anti-Tutsi discrimination is an institutionalized system under government of President Felix Tshisekedi.”
