Shenseea Set to Thrill Kigali as BK Arena Confirms January 3rd Concert

Kigali music lovers are in for a major treat after BK Arena officially confirmed that Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea will perform in Rwanda on January 3, 2026, putting to rest days of confusion and speculation surrounding the show.

The excitement comes after recent reports circulated online claiming that Shenseea, born Chinsea Lee, had dismissed plans to perform in Kigali. The singer herself had earlier described some concert announcements linking her and fellow Jamaican artiste Mavado to a December 30 show in Kigali as “fake news,” sparking uncertainty among fans across the region.

However, it now appears the deal was simply not finalized at the time. BK Arena’s official social media platforms have since confirmed that Shenseea will indeed headline a concert at the venue early next year. In a post that quickly went viral, the arena

The announcement has reignited excitement among Rwandan partygoers, with many hailing it as a strong start to the new year. The concert is part of BK Arena’s ongoing push to bring world-class international acts to Kigali and further position the city as a regional entertainment hub.

Shenseea is also expected to perform in Uganda around the same period, although her camp has yet to release detailed information, contributing to mixed signals about her East African tour schedule.

Her relationship with the region has not been without challenges. Shenseea last performed in East Africa on January 1, 2025, in Kenya, where she controversially exited the stage before her agreed performance time, citing poor organization. The incident sparked backlash from fans and industry players, leading some observers to believe the artist may have become more cautious about bookings in the region.

Despite past setbacks, Kigali fans are optimistic that the January 3 concert will deliver high-energy performances and smooth organization. Known globally for hits like Blessed, Lick, and Run Run, Shenseea remains one of dancehall’s most influential female artists.
