Reports reaching Taarifa Investigative Desk indicate that the AFC/M23 fighters have delivered significant reinforcements in Walikale as they consider attacking Kibati.
Local media reports also indicate that the rebels have since Saturday been delivering reinforcements in their positions in Kibati, in the Luberike area (Walikale territory), North Kivu,
Local media quoted sources that trucks carrying fighters and ammunition arrived in Kashebere before advancing towards Kibati.
These new developments come after Rwanda and DRC signed a mediated peace deal in Washington DC with the hope of effective de-escalation and silencing of guns.
However the rebels are visibly preparing for new offensives.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the AFC/M23 rebels and Wazalendo clashed in Kinyumba, about 10 kilometers north of Nyabiondo, in the Masisi territory, North Kivu.
The rebels who lost Kinyumba two weeks ago are trying to recapture this entity from the hands of the wazalendo.
