Belinda Umurerwa, the former RBA television news anchor turned entrepreneur—and elder sister to music star The Ben—is preparing to walk down the aisle with a prominent Nigerian business magnate.

According to close friends and family, the wedding is scheduled for January 3, 2026, though Belinda has intentionally kept the details private, preferring a quiet celebration away from the spotlight.

However, Taarifa has confirmed the news after reliable sources revealed the closely guarded plans.

Recently, during an intimate night out with a small circle of friends at one of Kigali’s popular entertainment spots, Belinda shared the joyful update.

As the evening unfolded—champagne flowing and music buzzing—Belinda was approached by a Taarifa reporter and opened up about her “life-changing project.”

“Yes, it’s true—I’m getting married on January 3rd next year,” she confirmed.

“But I prefer a low-key plan for my own reasons. Staying out of the limelight these days feels right for me.”

However, she decliened to speak about the mystery hubby to be, sighting people will know at the right time.

A Trailblazer in Rwanda’s Entertainment Scene

Belinda, now 41, spent over a decade building a name in Rwanda’s entertainment and media industry through sheer determination—not by relying on her brother’s celebrity status.

Her media journey began in 2008 at City Radio, where she hosted a variety of programs.

A year later, she joined Rwanda Television as an English news anchor before moving to UAP Insurance as an executive assistant.

After years of employment, she ventured into entrepreneurship, co-founding Envy Promotions with veteran singer, Big Brother Africa contestant and model Frankie Joe. The partnership later dissolved as both pursued separate paths.

Belinda went on to establish Kigali Entertainment Promoters, an events company recognized for organizing major fashion and music shows and hosting internationally acclaimed personalities.

She is credited with bringing renowned Nollywood actors Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze to Rwanda, as well as organizing the Big Brother Africa reunion event in Kigali, which featured former contestants including comedian Arthur Nkusi and Frankie Joe.

She also coordinated a major show for legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba (2Face Idibia) of the hit African Queen.
