Rwanda Security Forces Return Home After Successful Mission in Mozambique

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Reserve Force Chief of Staff, Major General Alexis Kagame, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, Commissioner of Police Vincent B. Sano, today welcomed home the Rwanda Security Forces contingent returning from Cabo Delgado Province in Mozambique.

The troops, led by Joint Task Force Commander Major General Emmy K. Ruvusha, arrived at Kigali International Airport after completing a year of successful operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.

During the reception, Major General Kagame commended the contingent for their dedication, professionalism, and the remarkable results achieved during the mission, despite numerous operational challenges.

He praised their commitment to duty and highlighted their role in strengthening Rwanda’s contribution to regional peace and security.

He further urged all personnel to continue upholding the highest standards of conduct and discipline as they reintegrate into national service.

The returning troops were part of Rwanda’s continued support to Mozambique in countering insurgent threats and stabilizing Cabo Delgado Province under a bilateral cooperation framework between the two countries.
