ISO Annual Meeting 2025 Kicks Off in Kigali with Global Leaders

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Annual Meeting 2025 has officially opened in Kigali, bringing together over 1,000 delegates from 176 countries under the theme “United for Impact.”

The event, running from October 6 to 10, convenes leaders from governments, international organizations, multinational corporations, standards bodies, consumer associations, research institutions, and civil society to address emerging trends and challenges in international standards.

Recognized as the world’s most influential forum on international standards, the ISO Annual Meeting plays a crucial role in shaping global policy, advancing innovation, promoting trade, and supporting the sustainable development agenda.

At the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva emphasized the importance of standardization for global development, stating: “Standardization must remain a cornerstone of equitable and sustainable development. This means aligning standards across markets, building ecosystems that support business access, and deepening cooperation to share knowledge and best practices.”

The Kigali-hosted meeting is expected to foster collaboration among countries and organizations, providing a platform to discuss how international standards can drive inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation worldwide.
