Eight judges and twenty-five court registrars were officially sworn in today at a ceremony presided over by Rt. Hon. Mukantaganzwa Domitilla, President of the Supreme Court.
During the event, Mukantaganzwa reminded the appointees that taking the oath is a constitutional obligation that binds them to uphold justice, integrity, and the rule of law.
She urged court registrars, who serve as the public’s first point of contact with the courts, to treat all citizens with professionalism and respect.
The new judges and registrars were also cautioned to deliver justice impartially, guided strictly by the law and free from personal bias or emotion.
Mukantaganzwa highlighted that the judicial profession is demanding and encouraged them to consult colleagues and seek advice to perform their duties effectively.
She further stressed that judicial independence is a principle of the institution, not a privilege of individuals, underscoring the responsibility of the appointees to strengthen the credibility and integrity of Rwanda’s judiciary.
The ceremony marks a key step in reinforcing Rwanda’s justice system and ensuring that courts continue to serve the public fairly and efficiently.
