Rwanda joined dozens of African nations in celebrating the continent’s cultural diversity at the 8th Seoul Africa Festival, an annual event organized by Africa Insight.

The festival, which featured traditional performances, art exhibitions, and food tastings, drew a wide audience eager to experience Africa’s heritage.

Rwanda’s presence was highlighted by Itorero Umucyo, a cultural troupe that represented the country for the second year in a row after winning the festival’s competition in 2024.

Rwanda’s Ambassador to South Korea, Nkubito Manzi Bakuramutsa, expressed appreciation for the vibrant turnout and the sense of unity the festival fostered.

“We were delighted to participate in the 8th Seoul Africa Festival, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Africa through performances, art exhibitions, and food tastings,” he said.

He extended gratitude to the organizers, fellow African communities, and cultural groups, noting that their contributions made the event a “meaningful success.”

The Seoul Africa Festival has become one of the largest platforms for African nations in South Korea to share their cultures, strengthen people-to-people connections, and foster mutual understanding with the Korean public.

Rwanda’s continued participation, through both its embassy and cultural troupes, reflects the country’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and showcasing its heritage on the international stage.
