Rwanda’s U20 Volleyball Team Heads to Egypt for African Championship

Rwanda’s national under-20 men’s volleyball team has travelled to Egypt to compete in the CAVB Men’s U20 Nations Championship, which kicks off this Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Cairo.

The delegation was officially flagged off by State Minister for Sports, Rwego Ngarambe, who handed the team the Rwandan national flag and urged them to fight for victory and return home as heroes.

The squad consists of 12 players under the guidance of head coach Ntawangundi Dominique. He is assisted by deputy coach Niyonkuru Yves, strength and conditioning trainer Rwamahungu Richard, and team medic Umulisa Henriette.

The team travelled aboard Ethiopian Airlines, connecting through Addis Ababa before heading to Cairo. The championship runs from September 11 to 21, 2025, bringing together Africa’s best young volleyball talents.
