The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) has urged Rwanda’s private sector to prepare for the 2025 UCI Road World Championships, set to take place in Kigali from September 21 to 28, 2025.
The global cycling event will bring thousands of participants, visitors, and fans to the country, creating opportunities for local businesses but also requiring logistical adjustments.
In its advisory, MINICOM called on businesses to leverage the event to boost service delivery and ensure smooth operations during the race period.
“Take advantage of the race season as an opportunity to do business and deliver high-quality services to participants, visitors, and fans,” the ministry emphasized.
The advisory also highlighted the importance of early planning to avoid disruptions caused by temporary road closures. Businesses are encouraged to:
- Stock goods in advance to prevent shortages.
- Schedule deliveries during night hours when roads will be open.
- Take advantage of facilitated truck driver journeys during the night.
The ministry advised that active participation and preparedness from the private sector are crucial for the success of this world-class event.
