The Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) has ushered in a new era of leadership following its Annual Ordinary General Assembly held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Kigali Serena Hotel.
Members unanimously elected a new Executive Committee that will oversee the vision and growth of Rwandan football for the next four years.
In accordance with Article 32(3) of the FERWAFA Statutes, adopted in May 2025, members voted in favor of the sole list submitted by Shema Ngoga Fabrice, which had been duly approved by the FERWAFA Electoral Commission as the only eligible slate.
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, a symbolic handover ceremony was conducted between the outgoing leadership and the new Executive Committee, presided over by the FERWAFA President and Secretary General.

Looking Ahead
The new leadership pledged to strengthen governance, promote inclusivity—particularly women’s football—and ensure the advancement of Rwandan football at all levels.
With Rwanda’s continued ambitions to compete more prominently on the continental stage, including AFCON and youth football development, expectations are high for the new team to deliver both structural reforms and competitive results.
FERWAFA extended its best wishes to the appointees, expressing confidence that their leadership will contribute meaningfully to the growth of the sport in Rwanda.
