President Paul Kagame has outlined Rwanda’s national vision of unity and prosperity during a meeting with a delegation from the Qatar Leadership Centre, emphasizing the importance of overcoming the past and building an inclusive, economically vibrant future.

“The number one thing in the vision was to bring back the country together. The vision of a united country. It doesn’t matter whose background or what background people have.

”You belong to this country. Even for people from outside, when they are here, as long as they obey the laws of the country, we count them as part of that growth that leads us to fulfill our vision,” Kagame said.

He stressed that unity is not only about reconciliation but also about shaping a shared future. “Unity, being together, overcoming our past and shaping our future was important,” he added.

The President also highlighted prosperity as a second pillar of Rwanda’s vision, underscoring the need for citizens to move beyond poverty.

“Second, the vision must entail prosperity. How do our people leave behind the poverty? You have left this division, but if you are not divided, yet you stay poor, what does it help? We want our country, our people, to grow and develop the nation,” Kagame noted.

The exchange with the Qatar Leadership Centre delegation reflects Rwanda’s commitment to sharing its development journey while strengthening international partnerships that support leadership, innovation, and sustainable growth.
