Rwanda and Israel are strengthening ties to advance fish production through strategic partnerships and targeted investments, aiming to bolster the country’s aquaculture sector and improve food security.

Dr. Ron Adam, former Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda and a key facilitator of investor relations between the two nations, recently met with Dr. Ray Ndikumana, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning and Administration at the University of Rwanda, for a productive discussion focused on fostering collaboration in fish farming and research.

The talks explored promising opportunities for Israeli entrepreneurs to work alongside university experts to enhance existing fish farming initiatives and expand research efforts.

This partnership is expected to bring innovative technologies and expertise to Rwanda’s aquaculture industry, helping to increase fish production sustainably.

Beyond enhancing fish farming capabilities, the collaboration seeks to promote increased fish consumption nationwide, thereby improving nutrition and generating new economic opportunities for local communities.

Dr. Adam emphasised that such partnerships not only strengthen bilateral ties but also contribute to Rwanda’s broader goals of agricultural development, food security, and economic growth through knowledge exchange and investment.

This evolving cooperation signals a growing commitment between Rwanda and Israel to leverage shared expertise and resources in building resilient and innovative agricultural sectors.
