Rwanda is hosting a high-level delegation from Nigeria’s Bayelsa State, led by Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for a four-day visit aimed at deepening agricultural cooperation and technology exchange.
The visit, organised by Rwanda Cooperation, began with the delegation being received by Chief Executive Officer Patricie Uwase.
The program will focus on studying Rwanda’s achievements in piggery exports, organic and regenerative farming, and innovations in electric tractor technology, sectors that have positioned the country as a continental model for sustainable agriculture.
Rwanda Cooperation, established by the Government of Rwanda in 2018, serves as the country’s dedicated institution for promoting and sharing innovative development initiatives through South-South and Triangular Cooperation.
The agency is committed to building strong, impactful partnerships and delivering world-class services to its partners, making it a key driver of Rwanda’s engagement with other nations.
During their stay, the Nigerian delegation will visit farms, processing facilities, and agricultural technology hubs to observe best practices and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Officials believe the mission will strengthen bilateral ties, expand trade, and accelerate knowledge transfer for the benefit of both economies.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo noted that the visit reflects Bayelsa State’s commitment to modernising agriculture, boosting productivity, and adopting environmentally sustainable practices, in line with Africa’s shared vision of food security and innovation.
