Germany’s Federal Development Minister Gerd Muller is in Rwanda on an official visit, during his tightly packed visit, he signed an MoU with RDB and had meetings with Minister of finance and economic planning Dr Uzziel Ndagijimana and State Minister Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirihe.
He also paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic, and welcomed him on behalf of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, to the G20 Compact with Africa Conference that will take place in November in Berlin.
After the visit he said: “25 years after the genocide, reconciliation and peace in the country are historic achievements. Rwanda has also managed to become the economic leader of successful African states. As an investment location, the country is not only interesting for VW, but increasingly also for other German companies as a platform for Africa. We are now strengthening cooperation with a total of 25 million euros thanks to a training offensive, investments in energy and digital infrastructure. Thanks to its successful development, Rwanda is an important priority country for German development cooperation in Africa. We will continue to strengthen cooperation in the future.”
