African Management Initiative Named As A Finalist In The Standard Bank Top Women Awards

In a recent release, Topco Media announced the finalists for the 16th annual Standard Bank Top Women
Awards.

As a leader in gender empowerment, African Management Initiative has been nominated in the
Top Gender Empowered Organisation – Fast Growth- Woman Owned SMME category.
As one of South Africa’s most prestigious gender-empowerment events, the Standard Bank Top Women
Awards recognises those organisations and individuals whose efforts are uplifting women in business and
society in general.
With a focus on providing opportunities for women in the workplace, African Management Initiative has
shown a consistent commitment to driving gender parity. Its work to develop women entrepreneurs,
managers and job-seeking youth across Africa through its scalable, tech-enabled learning programmes is
testament to this.
Finalists and winners at the Standard Bank Top Women Awards have been a source of inspiration to
women and men in business, encouraging their industry peers to empower women both in their own
workplaces, and through their products and services. With its excellent performance in this sphere,
African Management Initiative hopes to do the same.
Women are at the heart of AMI’s mission and methodology. Female entrepreneurs and managers face
multiple barriers to success at work, and our practical learning programmes focus on empowering them to
thrive. “We’re proud that over 70% of participants on our programmes last year were women, and 67% of
our management team is female, and are delighted to have been recognised by the Standard Bank Top
Women Awards.” – Rebecca Harrison, co-Founder and CEO
The Standard Bank Top Women Awards ceremony will take place on 15 August in Johannesburg.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on the evening attended by business and government
leaders, VIPs and members of the media.
