Yves Nkurunziz has been crowned the winner of the “Tour de Kigali” cycling competition around the City of Kigali on Saturday.
The Team Benediction rider beat the rest of the U23 and elite category riders when covering the 108km distance around Kigali in a race organized by the national Cycling Body, Ferwacy, under the auspices of the Cycling Cup race organized annually to help riders prepare for continental events.
The year-round series will end in December as Team Rwanda with the best rider being ranked because of accumulating best points.
The men junior category was scooped by Jereme Nduwayo from Cycling Club For All, CCA, while the women elite the category was won by Mukundente Geneviève from Team Benediction.
The 5th edition of Rwanda Cycling Cup is also organized to prepare local riders for La Tropicale Amissa Bongo event scheduled in January 2020 and the Tour du of Rwanda the following month.
