Airtel Issues Rwf90m To Customers Of Airtel Money

Customers of Airtel Rwanda have more reason to smile with the telecom’s continued giveback offers.

Subscribers of Airtel Money have so far been awarded Rwf90 million in interest for the money saved on their accounts.

This interest is calculated every close of day and awarded quarterly in a giving back offer called Cash Back.

Cash Back was launched last year to give back to all Airtel Money users who actively use the services to make payments, send and receive money.

Airtel Rwanda has paid over Rwf 90,000,000 in interest to its customers and promises to continue rewarding its over 5 million subscribers to drive financial inclusion in Rwanda.

The team at Airtel is currently working on the next 90 Million to be paid this end March.

“We recently combined the Airtel Money and Tigo Cash mobile commerce platforms to enable our customers to use these services seamlessly. Our whole base is now able to earn interest on their account balance at the end of day. We believe that we have a great role to play in driving financial inclusion and a cashless economy in Rwanda, which we are currently fostering through our Airtel money service,” said Amit Chawla, Airtel Rwanda Managing Director.

Airtel Money enables users to pay for various services, utilities, send and receive money, save money, use insurance and banking services, access digital government services; Irembo, ejo heza and more, all on one platform.
